How year end works
You share the year’s records
Access to your bookkeeping or a trial balance, bank statements to the year end, and details of loans, assets, payroll and anything unusual.
We review the year-end balances
We reconcile the bank, check what the company owes and is owed, review assets and the director’s loan account, and send you one list of questions.
We prepare the accounts and tax
We prepare the statutory accounts, the Corporation Tax computation and the CT600 return, with the workings behind them.
You review and approve
We send you the accounts and Corporation Tax figures to approve before anything is filed, with the amount payable, how to pay HMRC and the payment deadline.
We file and confirm
Once you approve, we file the accounts with Companies House and the CT600 with HMRC, and send you confirmation.
If the bookkeeping is not complete, we agree the catch-up work and fee before the review starts. The same accountant, Muhammad Mohsin, ACCA, prepares and reviews your work.
Common questions
Who is this for?
UK limited companies that need annual accounts and Corporation Tax work prepared from their company records. We agree the accounting period, filing timetable and work included at the outset.
What can the work cover?
Reviewing year-end balances, preparing statutory accounts, the Corporation Tax computation and CT600, and identifying missing records or decisions. Submission of accounts and tax returns is included where agreed in the scope.
What records do you need?
Current bookkeeping records or a trial balance, prior-year accounts and working papers where available, and supporting bank, loan, asset, payroll and tax information. Tell us about material or unusual transactions and any approaching deadlines.
What happens before filing?
You receive the accounts and Corporation Tax calculation for review. We confirm which filings are included in the agreed scope and point out the payment deadline. If the records need additional work, we discuss that before confirming the fee.
When are the deadlines?
For most private limited companies, accounts are due at Companies House 9 months after the year end, and Corporation Tax is payable 9 months and 1 day after the end of the accounting period. The CT600 return is due 12 months after the period ends. A company’s first accounts can have a different deadline.
What if my bookkeeping is not up to date?
We can bring the records up to date first as separately agreed work. We check what is missing and agree the extra work and fee before starting. Up-to-date, reconciled records keep the fee closer to the starting price.
Do you prepare dormant company accounts?
Yes. If your company has not traded during the year, dormant company accounts are £75 a year. Our dormant company guide explains what counts as dormant and what still needs filing.
Is the confirmation statement included?
No. The confirmation statement is a separate annual Companies House filing. We can prepare and file it for £20, plus the £50 Companies House fee, which we pass on at cost.
